Philosophy
“The mirror does not tell you who you are. It shows you what you might be overlooking.”
Before You Begin
What is an archetype?
Carl Jung noticed the same figures appearing in myths, fairy tales and dreams across the world — the hero, the wise elder, the trickster, the great mother. He called the deep patterns behind them archetypes: shared shapes in the human psyche that influence what we imagine, admire, fear and repeat.
They are not boxes to put yourself in. They are lenses — a language for noticing the roles you play and the parts of you that stay in the shadows.

The Journey
Four movements of reflection
About fifteen minutes, at your own pace. You can pass on any question, leave, and return later on this device (guest reflections are kept here for 24 hours).
How we interpret your answers →Reflect
Answer quiet questions about real situations — conflict, care, freedom, failure.
Reveal
Your answers become weighted behavioural signals, never a single label.
Explore
Signals gather into archetypal patterns, a possible Persona, Shadow themes and inner tensions.
Integrate
Journal prompts help you decide what resonates — and what does not.
What Your Codex May Reveal
More than a type
Persona
A possible social role you often perform — the mask Jung saw all of us wear to meet the world.
Shadow
Themes that may sit just outside your self-image, built from patterns and tensions, never from a single answer.
Inner Tensions
Pairs like Freedom ↔ Control or Strength ↔ Vulnerability, where two real needs pull against each other.
The Twelve
Twelve lenses, drawn from Jung’s figures
The twelve archetypes used here are a later interpretation popularised by Carol S. Pearson and Margaret Mark — each one traced back to the Jungian figure it draws on.
Your Private Codex
A codex that belongs to you alone.
There is nothing to sign up for. When you begin, The Inner Mirror opens a private codex in this browser and keeps your reflections, results and journal there for 24 hours. If you want to keep them longer, a free account stores them privately — only when you choose.

“When an inner situation is not made conscious, it happens outside, as fate.”
